Consultative Forum with Top Kiambu Leaders on the Status of Projects in Kiambu

Ministry of Water and Sanitation and AWWDA Works Development Agency held a consultative forum on 13th November 2018 with top Kiambu county leadership on the status of water projects in Kiambu County.
AWWDA is implementing projects worth approximately 52B towards increasing water coverage for Kiambu County. The Cabinet Secretary Water and Sanitation was seeking the support of the leaders in implementation of water and sewerage projects in the region.
Kiambu County governor H.E Hon. Ferdinand Waititu reiterated the need to increase water supply for the people of Kiambu. He also highlighted the plight of the residents of Kiambu County claiming the need for sufficient water and pending issues of land compensation.
The consultative forum reached a consensus to meet together before proceeding to field visits especially Karimenu II Dam Water Supply which is currently at Resettlement Action Plan stage. They also agreed to work together towards alleviating water shortages and sewerage in Kiambu County.
